For some, visiting a theme park can be daunting, but behind every thrill, there’s a world of engineering excellence, detailed procedures, and industry-leading safety checks.

This is how we keep you safe...

Scheduled Downtime

Every year, each ride undergoes a full maintenance cycle. This scheduled downtime ensures our rides meet the highest safety standards ahead of each new season.

Park Operational Checklists

Before the park opens each day, our rides are inspected using a digital maintenance management system called Mobaro. These checks are performed daily, weekly, and monthly. Visual checks are also carried out continuously throughout the day by our highly qualified fitters and engineers.

Training

Every ride operator completes hours of practical and theoretical training, including supervised assessments. Only once fully signed off can they operate a ride independently. Regular in-season update courses and manager-led coaching ensures skills are maintained and updated.

Ride Operation Systems

Our rides are powered by smart control systems with hundreds of built-in safety sensors. These monitor everything from speed and position to environmental conditions. If anything unusual is detected, even a leaf on the track, the ride will stop automatically until it’s been checked and cleared by our team.

History

Pleasure Beach is home to many wooden rollercoasters, maintained year-round by our dedicated and specialist Structures Team. These experts perform track walks every morning and carry out retracking and restoration work regularly.

Inspection Body Certification

Before any ride can operate, it must pass a full inspection from external engineering consultants. At Pleasure Beach, we use award-winning specialists Westlakes and RJA, two of the most respected inspection bodies in the industry. Their sign-off is a critical requirement for ride certification.

Food Safety

Good times taste even better when you know you're in safe hands! Every single food outlet at Pleasure Beach Resort proudly holds a 5-star Food Hygiene Rating, so you can relax and enjoy every bite with complete peace of mind. Allergen and calorie information is also available for all of our units.

Unscheduled Downtime

Occasionally, rides may stop during operation. This isn’t cause for concern, in fact, it’s a sign that our systems are working exactly as they should. Some of our rides do not operate in thunderstorms or high winds. Our rides will sometimes pause automatically, for example if guests are using mobile phones, or there is a minor sensor interruption. Rides may pause until engineers have confirmed everything is safe to resume.

Goverened by the Professional Safety Bodies

Pleasure Beach Resort operates under the guidance of recognised safety bodies alongside the Health & Safety Executive.

We operate inline with the safety bodies recognised by global leading associations, such as IAPPA, who champion innovation, safety and success of the attractions industry.

We operate in accordance to BALPPA safety codes.

We also adhere to attraction safety best practice as members of ALVA.

OUR COMPANY ETHOS MAKES SAFETY OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.

BPB Certified

With over 129 years of continuous operation, we’ve developed one of the most experienced engineering teams in the business. Our managers and engineers hold all the relevant safety certifications to carry out their jobs.

Our rides can only operate once they’ve been fully inspected, signed off, and certified by independent engineers. Nothing opens unless we know it’s ready. That’s what makes Pleasure Beach Resort a place where you can relax, enjoy the thrills, and ride with confidence.
