BLACKPOOL PLEASURE BEACH’S VALHALLA WINS GOLDEN TICKET AWARD FOR SEVENTH YEAR

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is celebrating as Valhalla has been named The Best Water Ride in the World for an incredible 7th year in Golden Tickets Awards.

The Golden Ticket Awards were announced via Amusement Today’s social media channels on Saturday 9th September.

CEO of Blackpool Pleasure Beach Amanda Thompson OBE said: “This achievement is really special to us. We are thrilled that Valhalla continues to be regarded as the best water ride in the world and we are so pleased with the positive response the reimagined ride has had since reopening. This award is yet another firm example of the world class line up of rides we have here at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.”

Valhalla is a Viking-themed water attraction featuring a ride system from Intamin. After being closed for refurbishment at the end of the 2019, the attraction saw a £4 million investment and recently reopened earlier this year.

Those who choose to step aboard the Viking longboat will have to brave the half mile long journey to reach a parallel world, Valhalla. Riders will be immersed in more than four minutes of high-speed action, seeing them engulfed by unforgiving elements including fire, water, snow, thunder and lightning. The choppy waters will carry riders through roaring fires and freezing mists, Valhalla will test limits and evoke shock, surprise and excitement at every twist and turn as they journey towards the right to be hailed as a true Viking warrior.

The Golden Ticket Awards are presented by Amusement Today, an international publication which covers the amusement park industry. The Golden Ticket Awards were set up in 1998 and have since recognised top parks and attractions each year.
